3/4" white in practice
Translucent stock diffuses rather than transmits, and thickness controls how much: at 3/4" it softens a light source considerably, hiding lamps and LEDs behind an even glow at the cost of brightness.
This is heavy plate. It behaves like a block: it can be machined, polished on the edge and stood on its own, and both the weight and the price scale accordingly, so size it deliberately.
In a laser: CO2 cuts it without trouble. A diode usually will too — pigment is what absorbs the beam — but translucent shades vary, so test an offcut before committing a sheet, and at 3/4" a diode is optimistic regardless.
3/4" white (colour 7328) runs $28.98 per square foot at this gauge and weighs about 4.68 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 37.4 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.
Why 3/4" white acrylic?
Heavy-duty and rigid. 3/4″ acrylic handles higher loads and wide spans with minimal deflection, which suits robust work surfaces, machine guarding, and load-bearing shelving or bases where 1/2″ isn't quite enough.
About White acrylic
White 7328 is a translucent glossy white, its own shade among our whites. Backlit it diffuses light cleanly; unlit it's a bright, glossy panel. Use it for illuminated signs and light-transmitting panels where a glossy face is wanted. For an exact match to existing material, ask us to confirm the lot.
