Glitter Acrylic
Glitter acrylic is clear acrylic sheet with hexagonal glitter flakes suspended in it — not a coating on top — so the sparkle is part of the material, a cut edge shows it too, and light passes between the flakes. It comes in silver, gold, green, red and black/silver, in 1/8" only — the thickness makers cut most — and it is a CO2-laser material, which is why it turns up in cake toppers, earrings and keychains, signs and lettering, ornaments, trophies and awards, and display pieces that are meant to catch the light. Red is the one exception to the see-between look: its flakes are packed so densely that no clear shows.

Can glitter acrylic be laser cut?
Yes, on a CO2 laser. Cut a test piece from an offcut before committing a sheet, as you would with any new material. We have not tested it on a diode laser, so do not count on one.
Is the glitter on the surface or in the sheet?
In the sheet. The flakes are suspended in clear acrylic, not laid on as a film or a painted face, so they do not rub off or peel, and a cut or polished edge shows the glitter as well as the face does. Because the acrylic between the flakes is clear, light and whatever sits behind the piece show through between them — except in red, where the flakes are packed so densely that no clear shows. Like any gloss acrylic the face will show scratches, so handle pieces by the edges and keep the masking on until the piece is finished.
What thickness does it come in?
1/8" only. That is the lightest thickness that still holds itself flat in a frame, and the one makers cut most, which is why it is the thickness glitter sheet is made in.
What sizes can I order, and is there a minimum?
Twelve standard sizes from 12" x 12" up, or any custom size you enter up to 48" per side, priced as you type. There is no minimum order. Every piece ships as a parcel to the contiguous US only.
