About clear polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is a tough, optically clear plastic with dramatically higher impact resistance than acrylic — the reason it's specified for machine guards, protective glazing, and safety covers. It costs more than acrylic and scratches more easily, so acrylic is still the better pick when clarity and price lead and impact isn't the concern — see our acrylic vs. polycarbonate guide.
