1" white in practice
Opaque stock blocks light entirely, so at 1" the decision is structural and visual rather than optical — you are choosing how solid the piece needs to feel and look.
This is heavy plate. It behaves like a block: it can be machined, polished on the edge and stood on its own, and both the weight and the price scale accordingly, so size it deliberately.
In a laser: pigment absorbs the beam, so this cuts on a CO2 machine and on a diode, but 1" is beyond what a desktop diode will get through — treat it as CO2 stock.
1" white (color 7328) starts at $33.98 for a 12″ × 12″ piece at this thickness, and weighs about 6.24 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 49.9 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.
Why 1" white acrylic?
A thick, block-like sheet. At a full inch, acrylic reads as a solid, weighty slab — a favorite for display blocks, awards, sign bases, and statement tabletops. Polished edges on 1″ stock have a distinctive depth to them.
About White acrylic
White 7328 is an opaque glossy white, its own shade among our whites. It blocks light completely and reads as a bright, reflective panel from any angle, lit or not. Use it for sign faces, fixtures, and finished panels where a glossy white surface is wanted; for a white that glows from behind, choose one of our translucent whites. For an exact match to existing material, ask us to confirm the lot.
