Running this machine
- CO2, so the full range applies including clear and the edge-glow fluorescents.
- The extra wattage means 1/4" is genuinely practical here, not just possible — it is the machine in this list best suited to thicker stock.
- Order 24" × 12" rather than the exact bed figure: it is a standard size, it fits, and there is nothing to gain from the last few tenths of an inch.
Never put these in a laser
PVC, vinyl and Sintra release chlorine gas when lasered — it is toxic to you and corrodes the machine from the inside. Polycarbonate (Lexan) discolors, cuts badly and can catch fire. Acrylic is the material these machines are built around. More on choosing laser stock.
