Why 1/16" clear acrylic?
At 1/16″ acrylic stops behaving like a panel and starts behaving like a sheet — light, slightly flexible, and easy to cut, score and drill. It is the right call when weight or clearance matters more than rigidity: model making, layered inlays and shims, lightweight signage faces, glazing for small frames, and protective facings that need to sit almost flush. Anything free-standing or load-bearing wants 1/8″ or thicker. We cut 1/16″ to order rather than holding it in every colour, so it is offered in clear.
About Clear acrylic
Clear acrylic is the original — optically clean, about as transparent as glass but roughly half the weight and far harder to shatter. It's the default for glazing, display cases, tabletop covers, sneeze guards, and picture-frame glazing: anywhere you want the material itself to disappear and the contents to be the show. Polished edges on clear stock look like water.
