1/8" yellow in practice
Transparent stock at 1/8" reads as a clean pane — you see the object behind it, not the material.
This is the lightest thickness that still holds itself flat in a frame, which is why it is the default for signage faces and glazing where something else carries the load.
In a laser: a CO2 machine cuts this cleanly and leaves a flame-polished edge. A diode laser will not cut it at any setting — the beam passes straight through transparent acrylic.
1/8" yellow (color 2208) starts at $4.93 for a 12″ × 12″ piece at this thickness, and weighs about 0.78 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 6.2 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.
Why 1/8" yellow acrylic?
The thinnest acrylic we stock, and the most economical. At 1/8″ it stays light and easy to handle, which makes it a go-to for signage, glazing, picture-frame glass, and point-of-purchase displays. It has some flex in larger panels, so it's best where it's framed or supported rather than free-standing.
About Yellow acrylic
Yellow 2208 is a transparent, see-through yellow — tinted like yellow glass, passing light and color straight through. Use it for lenses, color filters, layered art, and decorative glazing. Our clear-yellow option; 2037 and 2465 are translucent and glow instead, and 2016 is opaque.
