In a laser: a CO2 machine cuts this cleanly and leaves a flame-polished edge, though at 1/2" expect slow, multiple passes and plan for a wider kerf. A diode laser will not cut it at any setting — the beam passes straight through transparent acrylic.
1/2" glass green (colour 3030) runs $26.65 per square foot at this thickness and weighs about 3.12 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 25 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.
