1/8" fluorescent blue in practice
Fluorescent acrylic collects light across the face and releases it at the cut edge, and thickness is what you are buying: at 1/8" the edge presents a fine bright line, which suits lettering and thin inlays. A polished edge makes the effect noticeably stronger.
This is the lightest gauge that still holds itself flat in a frame, which is why it is the default for signage faces and glazing where something else carries the load.
In a laser: a CO2 machine cuts this cleanly and leaves a flame-polished edge. A diode laser will not cut it at any setting — the beam passes straight through transparent acrylic.
1/8" fluorescent blue (colour 9092) runs $6.82 per square foot at this gauge and weighs about 0.78 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 6.2 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.
Why 1/8" fluorescent blue acrylic?
The thinnest acrylic we stock, and the most economical. At 1/8″ it stays light and easy to handle, which makes it a go-to for signage, glazing, picture-frame glass, and point-of-purchase displays. It has some flex in larger panels, so it's best where it's framed or supported rather than free-standing.
About Fluorescent Blue acrylic
Fluorescent Blue 9092 is a transparent neon blue with the signature fluorescent trait: cut edges that appear to light up as the sheet gathers and channels ambient light. It's built for eye-catching signage, retail displays, laser-cut art, and edge-lit pieces. Bright and see-through, with an electric-blue glow at the edges.
