1/2" bronze in practice
Transparent stock at 1/2" reads as a piece with visible depth, where the edge color and the thickness itself become part of the look.
Solid enough to machine, tap and edge-finish like a workpiece rather than a sheet — the range where acrylic is being used as a component, not a covering.
In a laser: a CO2 machine cuts this cleanly and leaves a flame-polished edge, though at 1/2" expect slow, multiple passes and plan for a wider kerf. A diode laser will not cut it at any setting — the beam passes straight through transparent acrylic.
1/2" bronze (color 2404) starts at $18.69 for a 12″ × 12″ piece at this thickness, and weighs about 3.12 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 25 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.
Why 1/2" bronze acrylic?
A premium, solid sheet with real presence. At 1/2″, acrylic feels like a finished slab — ideal for tabletops, structural panels, weighted bases, and machine guards. The thicker edge also takes a polish beautifully, giving a clean, glass-like border.
About Bronze acrylic
Bronze 2404 is a see-through bronze tint, related to 2370 but its own depth of tone. It filters light into a warm amber-brown and reduces glare, suiting partitions, decorative glazing, and display work. Specify 2404 to match an existing bronze panel.
