Transparent stock at 1/2" reads as a piece with visible depth, where the edge color and the thickness itself become part of the look.
Solid enough to machine, tap and edge-finish like a workpiece rather than a sheet — the range where acrylic is being used as a component, not a covering.
In a laser: a CO2 machine cuts this cleanly and leaves a flame-polished edge, though at 1/2" expect slow, multiple passes and plan for a wider kerf. A diode laser will not cut it at any setting — the beam passes straight through transparent acrylic.
1/2" bronze (color 2370) starts at $18.64 for a 12″ × 12″ piece at this thickness, and weighs about 3.12 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 25 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.

About Bronze acrylic
Bronze 2370 is a transparent bronze — a warm, smoky brown-gold tint you can see through, much like architectural bronze glass. It cuts glare and adds warmth, which is why it's used for privacy panels, sunroom and skylight glazing, and upscale signage. One of three bronzes we stock.
