1/8" black/silver glitter in practice
At 1/8" the surface finish carries the look; the material itself is doing structural work.
This is the lightest thickness that still holds itself flat in a frame, which is why it is the default for signage faces and glazing where something else carries the load.
In a laser: a CO2 machine cuts glitter acrylic; cut a test piece from an offcut before committing the sheet. We have not tested it on a diode laser, so do not count on one.
The glitter flakes are suspended in clear acrylic, not coated on it, so they do not rub off or peel, and the cut edge shows them too. Like any gloss acrylic the face shows scratches — handle pieces by the edges and keep the masking on until the piece is finished.
1/8" black/silver glitter (color F1006) starts at $10.27 for a 12″ × 12″ piece at this thickness, and weighs about 0.78 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 6.2 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.
Why 1/8" black/silver glitter acrylic?
The thinnest acrylic most jobs call for, and the most economical. At 1/8″ it stays light and easy to handle, which makes it a go-to for signage, glazing, picture-frame glass, and point-of-purchase displays. It has some flex in larger panels, so it's best where it's framed or supported rather than free-standing.
About Black/Silver Glitter acrylic
Black/Silver Glitter F1006 is clear acrylic sheet with dark flakes — black and gunmetal — scattered through it. It is not a black sheet: the acrylic is clear, the flakes are dark, so it reads as a smoky, scattered sparkle with light and whatever sits behind showing between the flakes. It suits signs, awards, name plates, earrings and display pieces that want a darker shine than silver. 1/8" only. Reference the code when matching.
