3/16" bronze in practice
Transparent stock at 3/16" reads as a clean pane — you see the object behind it, not the material.
Here the sheet starts to feel stiff in the hand and spans further without visible bow, while staying easy to cut and drill on ordinary tools.
In a laser: a CO2 machine cuts this cleanly and leaves a flame-polished edge. A diode laser will not cut it at any setting — the beam passes straight through transparent acrylic.
3/16" bronze (colour 2404) runs $8.93 per square foot at this gauge and weighs about 1.17 lb per square foot, so a 24″ × 48″ piece comes to roughly 9.4 lb — worth knowing before you size a panel someone has to lift or ship.
Why 3/16" bronze acrylic?
A middle step between 1/8″ and 1/4″. The extra thickness adds noticeably more rigidity while keeping weight down, so it holds its shape better across medium panels — useful for signage, partitions, and light-duty panels that need a bit more backbone than 1/8″.
About Bronze acrylic
Bronze 2404 is a see-through bronze tint, related to 2370 but its own depth of tone. It filters light into a warm amber-brown and reduces glare, suiting partitions, decorative glazing, and display work. Specify 2404 to match an existing bronze panel.
